The noble Quran, is the book that was sent from God to mankind. To bring people out of the darkness of ignorance into the light of Islam. It was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) through angel Gabriel, in the 17th of Ramadhan, year 13 before the migration. It is the book which Muslims read and ponder over it in order to get closer to God. And in this article, we’ll mention a few facts you may not know about the noble Quran.
The Quran is the only book that is preserved word by word, letter by letter:
The Quran we have today is the same Quran that was revealed to prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), more than 1400 years ago. In fact, the book that was written by the caliphate Uthman ibn Affan, the third caliphate and companion of the prophet, is in Topkapi museum in Istanbul, Turkey. More than that, the Quran is memorized cover to cover by millions of Muslims. “Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)”. (Al-Hijr 15:9).
The Quran mentions 25 names of prophets and messengers, who were sent by God throughout history:
The prophets and messengers are: Hud, Lot, Jonah, Elias, Shu’ib, Ishmael, Isa (Jesus), Moses, Yehia, Joseph, Jacob, Adam, Idris, Ibrahim, Ishaq, Al-Issa, Al-Kafil, Sulaiman, Zakaria, Haroun, Ayoub, Saleh, Noah, and Dawood and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). “Truly! This, your Ummah [Sharia or religion (Islâmic Monotheism)] is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me (Alone). (Al-Anbiya 21:92).
The Quran tells the full and the true story of Jesus (peace be upon him):
The Quran tells the full story of Jesus (peace be upon him), from the virgin birth of Marry, to the crucifixion, which the Quran tells that it was not Jesus who was crucified rather it is the resemblance of ‘Isa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man). The Quran also declares that Jesus is a great prophet but not a God in human form whatsoever.
The Quran gives the virgin Marry a full chapter in her name:
Chapter of the virgin Marry, it is the chapter number 19 in the order of the Quran. It contains 93 verses. It is the only chapter in the Quran that was named after a woman, and this for the greatness of Marry in Islam, as our prophet peace be upon him said: “From among the women of the world who have reached perfection and who are worthy of following are (the following four):Miryam (Marry) the daughter of Imrân; Khadija daughter of Khuwailid; Fatima daughter of Muhammad and Asiyah wife of Fir’aun” (Tirmidhi). In the chapter of Marry, the reader finds the story of the virgin birth, as well as stories of few prophets such as Zakaria, Yehia, Ibrahim, Ishmael. It also uses strong language statements against the people who believe that Jesus is the son of God.
